5 Apps To Make Life Easier

So the magical moment happens, you pick up your brand new Android smartphone and you are ready for your life to be changed. Instead of shooting stars and rainbows, you just have a device filled with nothing but bloatware and have no idea how to make it work for you. You smartly (just like I did) Googled for some hints as to what’s worth downloading. Well, I’m here to shed a little light on some FREE apps that may just help that “ah ha” moment happen. You’re welcome, world.

1. aCalendar

Now most of us try and sync all of our calendars, and it becomes an overwhelming task. With aCalendar, you can put all events, birthdays, and reminders in one place, and it also syncs with your emails and pictures. Since you gotta be you, it also gives you the freedom to change the view (whether it be by day, week, or month). I’m telling ya – I normally hate calendar apps (I feel like they are a digital nagging mom that reminds you how little free time you have), but not this one. I can see a picture of my dog when I have to take him to the vet and an icon of a big pink cake for my mom’s birthday. And yeah, I referenced my mom’s birthday; after all I did just complain about mom’s nagging. This app can do whatever you would want a calendar app to do and, better yet, it’s simple to use.

2. Asana

Are you ever managing multiple people and you have no idea if a task was assigned or if it was just a thought you had while driving to work? First, pay attention to the road. Second, Asana can help take that stress away. The cool thing about this app is that you can have all your team members join, and Asana centralizes all tasks and conversations, so you can focus on knocking your projects out of the park. You have a great idea for the website update? Add it! Want to know what’s happening with the new marketing campaign? Read the conversations! There is no need to send 200 emails a day or to have a three-week long email thread. Take the stress out of teamwork and get Asana. You know how Contentverse runs on Dunkin’? Well, the Contentverse Marketing Team runs on Asana.

3. Sendable

Let’s be honest – changing a file to a different type is a pain in the YOU KNOW WHAT, and most of the time you aren’t sure how to do it. Maybe you have a document that you need in a presentation, but you have no way to scan it because you’re not at home/school/the office. Have no fear, Sendable is here! This app lets you snap a picture of anything (we’re guessing you’d use this for paper documents, but maybe you want a pdf of your cat playing with his fishy wishy) and email it as a PDF. The picture becomes a clear PDF and looks like a legitimate scan. Ah, technology, I love you. Sendable goes a step further and walks you through how to quickly email your new automatically converted JPEG-to-PDF file to anyone, making it simple to share documents through email, Google Drive, DropBox and more. It’s all about taking time-consuming tasks and cutting them down, so you’re not failing to deliver just because you’re not “in the office” like some lame person.

4. Google Keep

If you are anything like me, then you probably love Post-it notes… or at least the idea of them. Little colored squares that keep all your zany ideas separate while still all in one place. Google Keep is like the digital version of traditional Post-its. The best part? You can use the voice feature to transcribe notes, memos or reminders. Think of all the time you can save by not have to type out each word – it’s a multi-tasker’s dream!

5. Out of Milk

Out of Milk is a great app for those who can never remember what to buy at the grocery store. I’m sure it happens in every family, someone uses up the last of the milk (or in my boss’s case, the last of the almond milk) and never puts it on the list. Then some poor soul gets excited to have cereal for breakfast only to find no milk left, and they’re forced to use either water or orange juice. The horror! In all honesty, it can be hard to keep a list going, let alone remember to bring it to the store with you. Out of Milk is a great place to keep track of what you need and what sales you can take advantage of that week. Just one less thing you have to worry about.

At this point I hope you have all pulled out your phones and started downloading each of these apps. Seriously though, there are so many apps that can make life much easier and give you more time to do fun things – like write really awesome blog posts. You have to make the phone work for you. You spent all this money on a mobile investment, now customize it and make life easy.
